What you'll need

  • Some coding experience (Scratch or Python is fine)
  • A computer able to run a game engine
  • Patience for iteration — games take rewrites

Projects they'll build

Every module ends in something they can run, show, and keep. These are the pieces that leave the class with them.

A 2D platformer with levels

Jump, collide, die, retry. They ship more than one level so the game has a real arc.

A top-down arcade shooter

Movement, enemies, and score — a complete loop they can hand to a friend and watch them play.

03

A final game of the student's own design

Their idea, their mechanics, their polish. The capstone is a game nobody else in the class made.
